SEMI-HEAVY WEIGHT REINFORCED CONCRETE QUAY

The quay is designed for mooring of the crafts and  ships with middle displacement. The quay provides for the possibility of passage of heavy weight transport, for loading/unloading works, for transfer from the shore to a vessel of different types of electric power, oil and gas.
The quay consists from three similar reinforced concrete pontoons and provides for mooring of ships with a total displacement up to 5000 t.
A bridge is provided for connection of the quay with the shore and for laying of engineering lines.

MAIN PARAMETERS
Length of a quay from three pontoons, m about 108,8
Length of a bridge, m 17
Length of one pontoon, m 36,6
Breadth of a pontoon, m 9,6
Depth, m 2,6

 Advantages of reinforced concrete pontoons:

  • long service life of reinforced concrete structures, constituting 50 years and more;
  • corrosion resistance in sea water;
  • relatively low cost;
  • high processability;
  • low maintenance cost - reinforced concrete hulls do not require lifting from the water for periodical painting as metal ones.
